News: Lion Elastomers Announces Resignation of CEO and President

Aug 26, 2021

The Lion Elastomers’ Board of Directors today announced that Jesse Zeringue, CEO and President, will resign after 31 years of company service to pursue new opportunities.

The Lion Board will immediately commence a search to identify a successor for Mr. Zeringue. Dr. David Ward, Lion’s current Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Research and Development, has been appointed  to serve in the role as Interim CEO until a replacement is appointed, at which time he will work with the Lion Board to ensure an orderly transition.

“It has been an absolute honor and privilege to have served at Lion (Copolymer). I will certainly cherish the memories I have accumulated over the past 31 years. I wish to thank our owners and Board for placing their trust in me to lead the company for the past eight years; our customers, suppliers and financial partners who stayed by our side through the many business cycles; but most of all the dedicated employees who helped to build and define Lion,” Zeringue said. “I am forever grateful for the opportunity to lead such a tremendous group of contributors. I wish the company continued success.”

“Under Jesse’s leadership, Lion has seen growth in key market segments and has diversified its product offerings, making Lion a stronger company within the elastomers industry,” said Dr. Ward. “We are incredibly grateful for Jesse’s vision, drive, and dedication over these many years.”

Ward continued, “Initiatives undertaken during his tenure will certainly continue to add value well into the future. Concurrent with Jesse’s departure, I have complete confidence in our staff’s ability to make this a smooth transition. Please join me in wishing Jesse much success in his new endeavor. Thank you for your continued support of our business.”
